The Journey Begins

We’re on our way! We just arrived in Chicago after a series of blessings that made our departure smooth and easy. Although American Airlines allows only one free checked bag per person, our check-in agent honored our British Airways baggage allowance of three checked bags per person. As we weighed each bag, we realized we’d probably have to pay $50 per bag for being overweight. But as we bent down to move our bags off the scale, she said, “If you move quick and we get the weight down to around 52 pounds, I’ll let you go. Gotta do it quick though, my boss wouldn’t allow it and she’s right there,” and motioned to the lady standing next to her. We ended up being about five pounds over on each checked bag, but we didn’t have to pay a dollar for extra or overweight luggage. Thirty minutes later we got our seats to Chicago which both ended up being exit row aisle seats. And now we have a few hours to wait before our flight to London.

We are excited to take advantage of this opportunity together to travel to India to serve others and to be enriched and enlightened by an adventure as a newly-wed couple in a foreign country and culture. We are humbled by the help we have received from generous friends, family, and strangers. Thank you for supporting us and keeping us in your prayers!
